Dr. Bloxham understands from his own experience the impact of chronic pain on quality of life and overall physical and mental health. During his years as a local general dentist, Dr. Bloxham was loved and appreciated by his staff and patients for his honest, caring demeanor and his pleasant sense of humor, which made patients feel welcome and at ease. In 2015, following multiple neck surgeries, he was forced to retire from general dentistry due to his own chronic pain issues. As a devoted lifelong learner, Dr. Bloxham took this as an opportunity to utilize and expand upon his past education in order to help make a difference for other chronic pain sufferers. He subsequently completed an additional three years of training in specialty post-doctoral education with the University of Southern California in their Masters of Orofacial Pain and Oral Medicine Program.
Dr. Bloxham’s focus is on treating and managing orofacial pain conditions, including musculoskeletal pain (TMD/TMJ, myofascial pain), atypical tooth pain, trigeminal nerve disorders, and neurovascular and neuropathic pain. Dr. Bloxham also treats oral medicine disorders such as Burning Mouth Syndrome and autoimmune disorders that affect the mouth. He is highly trained and experienced in the fabrication of TMJ orthotics, dental sleep appliances for the management of obstructive sleep apnea/snoring, Botox injections for migraines and orofacial pain conditions, intra-articular injections, trigger point injections, and, nerve blocks.
He is currently a member of the American Academy of Orofacial Pain (AAOP), the American Headache Society (AHS), the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP), American Dental Association (ADA), the Washington State Dental Association, the Benton-Franklin Dental Society.
Dr. Bloxham loves living in the Tri-cities area. He and his wife Marianne are proud to call it home and have been blessed to raise their family here. They enjoy playing on the river in the summer and various outdoor activities throughout the year. Most weekends you will find them at soccer fields around the region as they cheer on their two daughters who still live at home while updating their adult children via continuous texts.

Laura joined our practice coming from a sixteen year career as a dental assistant. Laura has a genuine passion for helping her patients and is proud to work for such a thoughtful and caring doctor here at Columbia Center for Sleep Apnea and TMJ. Laura worked alongside Dr. Bloxham for eight of her sixteen years in dentistry and is thrilled with the opportunity to work with him again. Laura enjoys spending her time outside our office with friends and family, especially her husband and two daughters.
The self-proclaimed favorite employee of Dr. Bloxham – Makenna began working for him in 2014 and has loved getting to meet and work with many of his patients. Makenna graduated with her Bachelors in Microbiology in 2021 from the comfort of her couch (thanks to COVID). Her future probably entails some more schooling with the possibility of world domination along the way (and a good chance of her trying to arm wrestle Dr. Bloxham for his job).
